Affinity suite for sure. With the promo they had this year anyone could have bought a semi-permanent license for $75 total for their versions of Photoshop, AI and InDesign. Regular price is $150 for the suite, but they do have the occasional sale. For video the answer is Davinci Resolve.
Here is sK1 - it is free & open-source vector editor with CMYK/spot colors support, mostly CorelDraw/Adobe Illustrator alternative. Inkscape is free, and garbage imo (same with gimp), you could look into Affinity Designer. +1 for Affinity Designer. You won't want to go back to Inkscape anymore. Thanks for the suggestions!
Corel is another alternative to Adobe. Again it's payware, but both Corel & Serif are pretty reputable in the design world. They may not have the market share or brand recognition that Adobe does, but most designers have likely heard of them, and there are companies out there that provide their software to their workers (Corel, in particular as they also make CAD software)

As long as you dont want to print, Inkscape is a great program with some minor flaws. It has a lot of effects, called Live Path Effect (LPE). Affinity Designer is a very well designed alternative with a nice price, but lacks effects like Blend and (real) vector brushes (as in AI), live trace or repeating patterns.
