Example: if you are using grub, press e to edit the commands, then go to after where it says vmlinuz/vmlinux and ro/whatever else, usually at the end of the last line. Then add ‘init=/bin/bash’ And press ctrl+x to boot. Then you can run passwd and change the password to something you’ll remember. Note: this should work (I haven’t tested ...
23.09.2015 · Re: [SOLVED] Can't log-in into Arch(tty) Then it does appear very similar to what's described in the thread linked by ayekat. Did you also install updates before this reboot (I assume systemd-logind handled the power button and it was a clean shutdown -- not 100% clear on that)?
19.07.2012 · Re: [solved] Can't login on tty "Login incorrect". Oh, you're right! The preliminary solution is to delete the changes in the /etc/pam.d/login file, which are described in the Wiki and to use the original file content. Unfortunately this will deactivate the thinkfinger module. Offline.
15.07.2016 · Normally, the incorrect resolution would not bother me because I work not often in TTY, but I want to use Sway with Wayland. Sway uses WLC seems not to be able to switch TTY resolution. So I end up with 1920x1200 downscaled to 1680x1050 and then from the display upscaled to 1920x1200. Looks terrible. Last edited by jnhieber (2016-05-02 07:58:57)
Aug 16, 2013 · Re: Incorrect login [Solved] Your command looks okay. Yes, you can use your CD for that. Don't worry, there is a wiki page, explaining how it works, it's really quite simple, if I may say so. 22.10.2012 · Perhaps your keymap configuration is wrong fo the tty (which is a different setting than Xorg / Unity) and your password is wrong because of this. Try entering your password when you're prompted for your username and see if the characters turn out right; don't press enter, but delete your input (since login tries get logged and your password would be in that logfile).
