May 03, 2016 · Running Windows 10 with an Arch Linux Guest in Virtualbox 6.1.10. Automatic screen resizing is not working even after installing virtualbox-guest-utils. I know there have been some issues regarding the new graphics controller VMSVGA. However, even after changing that to VBoxVGA or VBoxSVGA, the issue persists.

14.07.2020 · When I installed virtualbox-guest-modules-arch and virtualbox-guest-utils from the repos, I could not get auto sizing to work. I installed it off the ISO using ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run (check mount for the location of the mounted ISO). Using VMSVGA controller with 3D acceleration enabled, and I am able to auto resize with the specs above.

12.06.2016 · I have Arch_32bit and Arch_64bit as guest(s) under Arch_64bit host. All systems use "startx" + FluxBox, and all have kernel 4.5.1-1. On guests: With virtualbox-guest-dkms 5.0.18-1 and virtualbox-guest-utils 5.0.18-1 I am unable to get guests to run on fullscreen (and guest display size doesn't adapt any more).

You should increase your screen resolution in Arch Linux. This usually happens when you run operating systems in a virtual box. The OS you're running in the VB won't know what resolution to use so it usually sets it to 640x480 or something else. So, change your resolution in Arch Linux...not your main OS.
