12.03.2021 · Microsoft Azure Archive storage does not support immutability. Veeam Backup & Replication allows you to prohibit deletion of data from the archive extent by making that data temporarily immutable. It is done for increased security: immutability protects your data from loss as a result of attacks, malware activity or any other injurious actions.
Veeam requires Immutability at the Object not Bucket level, unless you are only writing independant full backups with no chain. Only Amazon S3 at the minute offers object level immutability, coming 'Q4' to wasabi, no announcement yet from azure. 2 level 1 rubmahbelly · 1y This is not supported.

20.08.2020 · Tried this just now, but the first Offload to Cloud on the scale-out repository to Azure already fails because it does detect that the Blob storage container is set to immutable. So you cannot fool Veeam into controlling the immutability on the container level. Kinda makes sense I guess. So back to AWS we go. Top.
04.06.2021 · SSD MAY also be supported, but I've never had anyone ask me if they can brick really expensive SSD for a few years . For us, our implementation of immutability is based on object storage and is controlled per object. AWS allows for object level immutability in their API which is why we support it. Azure currently is bucket level only.
