For broadcom wl you need to run exactly the same kernel versions on both machines for it to work. b43-firmware should should work regardless of kernel. In both cases you need to load the appropriate modules with modprobe (b43 or wl) before running wifi-menu.

For the reasons explained, I think it would be better to suggest the use of broadcom-wl-dkms for BCM4331 users, also because the package is already in the community repository.. Kieto 09:00, 22 April 2018 (UTC) . I can confirm this. On a MacBook Pro 8,1 with BCM4331 wifi is faster and more power efficient (power management didn't work with b43).

I have a problem with the BCM4331 card. So I was given a 2012 Macbook Pro (8,2) and I've successfully installed Arch without any problems. Everything seems to work out of the box except for the network card. Ethernet connection is good but the wireless is very slow and clunky. What I've done so far:
