New to Sodastream syrup and flavour advice needed. Hey everyone, I've wanted a soda stream since the 90's and today I purchased my first one. I have a good selection of syrups at the moment pepsi, 7up and the bogof cola but I'm looking too the future and wondering if there are any alternatives (cheaper if possible) that I can use it with.

I'm also pretty pissed at SodaStream. I just bought my Sodastream late last year and bought every syrup to figure out which ones I want to buy regularly.

The problem with syrups like Coke in a bag is that they have a 5/1 syrup to water ratio, where Sodastream is 23/1, so if you need almost 5 times as much of the Coke syrup and that gets expensive quickly. Pepsi just bought Sodastream; it takes effect at the end of the year, so we're hoping for Pepsi brands right after that.

Tried out the sodastream brand syrups (cola and root beer) but didn't like ... The best I've ever had was by a brand called Fentimans.

The cola and lemon-lime are different than the big brand equivalents, but not bad. I’ve gotten used to the difference and it’s fine. What’s really not good is the constant shortages on the SodaStream web site, even pre pandemic. I’ve been trying to give them my money for years and they are always short on everything—machines, syrups, CO2.

I bought my SodaStream for endless fizzy water (and that's going great!), but I was wondering if the soda syrup options are good?

Have you tried all of the official Sodastream ones? I find that their Cola and Diet Cola are okay, but Dr Pete is really good. Kind of a middle ground between Cola and Dr. Pepper. I don't really buy Cola flavoured syrups anymore because the Dr Pete scratches that itch, but I tried this one a while back and enjoyed it.

Its absolutely great. I'm pretty thrilled with the sodastream now, even if its kind of an expensive way to carbonate water. I just keep a bottle of plain, charged up water (3 or 4 beeps) in the fridge. When I want a soda, I pour however much water I want in a cup, and hit it with a few (OK, 6) pumps of syrup.

I start with three shots of Coke syrup and go from there. I found that one and a half is good for the smaller bottles.

I'm not really a big fan for the soda stream flavors due to the ... the Diet Cola SS has an awkward flavor, Dr. Pete is actually good!
