Since there is no update yet for the mini, the software seems to be stuck and not detecting. I have told them that this is not a convenient way of feedback from software as user may be assuming the software is not working properly.

If the icon is there, then RIGHT-click it, slide your mouse to the line that says "Launch Bose Updater webpage" and LEFT-click it. That should open up a new browser window that looks like this: Choose your Sub1/Sub2 from the list of products in the upper right.
