Patrons have been coming to the Boston College pool for over 30 years to recreate, swim laps, compete, and participate in our wide array of aquatic programs. From youth and adult swim lessons to Red Cross and water fitness classes, there is something for everyone. The lifeguards are in charge of all operations on the deck.

The Competition Pool is a state-of-the-art, 10-lane-by-16-lane pool with the ability to change from meters to yards by use of a movable bulkhead, set according to activity. The temperature in the Competition Pool is 79-80 degrees. The depth slopes from 7 feet to 13.5 feet, appropriate for water polo, synchronized swimming, and diving.

BC Rec offers group Learn to Swim lessons for children of all ages and experience levels. Lessons are taught at the Connell Recreation Center Pool in Chestnut Hill, MA. Children from Newton, Brighton, Brookline, Boston and surrounding areas are welcome to enroll in swim lessons; an affiliation with Boston College is not required.

The Margot Connell Recreation Center is open and operational. Our regular fall hours are 6:00am - 11:45pm Monday through Thursday, 6:00am - 10:45pm Friday, 9:00am - 8:45pm Saturday, and 9:00am - 10:45pm Sunday. The aquatics center, open daily for lap swim, will close 15 minutes prior. Hours may vary on home football gamedays and holidays.

The FitRec facility features two swimming pools to accommodate all types of swimmers. The Aquatics Center offers classes, including SCUBA, aqua aerobics, diving, and all levels of swimming for adults and children, as well as a comprehensive program of American Red Cross certification courses in Lifeguard Training and Water Safety.
