Eg I have a Boston and cherry eye is quite common so I made sure it was included along with all the other health defects associated with Boston’s. If you feel you could cover all unexpected costs resulting from health issues or accidents then wait, but I personally wouldn’t as you can’t predict the future or have your eye on them 100% of the time.

We have two boston terriers and a Bugg just came into our local shelter. Both of our bostons have had knee surgeries done. I'm assuming any boston terrier/ pug genetic issues, like bad knees, will be inherited by a Bugg? Is it possible that any issues that exist in purebreds of the breed may be cancelled out by the mix?
