I am playing with CEPH in VMs to learn but I was wondering if any of you is running CEPH across multiple nodes in your homelab.

Ceph requires 2-4 GB of RAM per OSD plus 4 GB of RAM for the base OS per data node. If you plan on running MON, MGR, RGW, or MDS on the same nodes, add approximately 4 GB of RAM for each of those daemons as well. I run 64 GB of RAM per node which is fine for my needs.

When Ceph added Erasure Coding, it meant I could build a more cost-effective Ceph cluster.
