However, when we tried to add the same email with the same settings into Andriod native Gmail app, it worked. Moreover, I tried to add the same email with the same settings into the native Mail app on iphone , it worked. This leads to a belief that there must be a bug in Gmail app on Iphone. I am using iphone X, IOS 12.3.1.
