Aug 10, 2008 · Note, I speak both Russian and Czech as foreign (to me at least) languages. While there are a number of similarities in word roots, grammar (declensions, phraseology etc.), there are many differences, e.g. in accents, specific declension endings, conjugation forms, idioms, etc.

They are still two different languages and should be treated so (it is the same as when you are learning several romance ones). And be careful ...

Answer (1 of 8): I’m a native English speaker who has learnt both Russian and Czech. I found Russian easier to be honest. Russian and Czech grammar are very similar and one is not greatly easier or more difficult than the other.
