No, there is no DDG add-on for Safari on iOS. Add-ons are not possible in iOS, but they could do a content blocker for Safari. They decided against it and brought instead a browser. I think that was a bad decision, because Safari is so much better than this very simpel browser. Especially on the iPad, the DDG browser is a joke compared with Safari.

If you care about ram and cpu usage then yes. if you want personalized ads and Microsoft tracking, absolutely. sync isn't end to end encrypted too which is just a cherry on the top. I use Edge because it uses less resources while I'm gaming on my other monitor and I can block ads on youtube with ublock.
