Apr 27, 2017 · dnsmasq provides the option --all-servers--all-servers. By default, when dnsmasq has more than one upstream server available, it will send queries to just one server. Setting this flag forces dnsmasq to send all queries to all available servers. The reply from the server which answers first will be returned to the original requestor.
I'm running Ubuntu server on a computer used as a wireless AP, but this AP should resolve all DNS requests to an internal IP address rather than actually performing the lookup. I want to do the same thing that paid public WiFi hotspots do - you can connect but if you attempt to load any websites they show a default page.
08.03.2021 · By default, it supports up to 64 ports at the same time. This means that dnsmasq can hold open sockets of 64 ports simultaneously and wait for responses on each of those port sockets. An attacker has to guess the source port (any of the 64 that are open) correctly. Otherwise, malicious packets will simply be dropped on the dnsmasq server.
