Deliberately choose some random IP so that when you set up the DDNS from your firewall you can quickly test if it got updated. Then create a new Token API by going to the Account Profile --> API Tokens page. Click Create Token.

I then started setting up Dynamic DNS in pfsense. Using the follow details. Service Type: Cloudflare. Interface: WAN. Hostname: @ DomainName: "domainname".ca. Username: "Cloudflare Email login" Password: "Global API KEY from Cloudflare" I get red 0.0.0.0 with no logs regarding the dynamic DNS service. Any help would be much appreciated.

However, if you are using CloudFlare as your DNS provider, it makes sense to configure it to also create Dynamic DNS for your domain.

08.04.2021 · Back in your firewall, make sure you have the DDNS plugin installed - if it's not installed by default. Navigate to the DDNS configuration page (Services --> Dynamic DNS) and click Add.
