Edge uses DirectX 12 APIs for GPU rendering, MS may be able to do the same for Edgium. The 4k video playback on Edge is butter smooth. MS has removed/replaced many Google specific stuff, there's a screenshot of a list out there. It has resulted in a more leaner chromium than chrome or other chromium based ones.
The benefit of Edge is (probably) less tracking. Benefit of Chrome is hard to identify, tbh. I suppose they may be a couple of days quicker with the very bleeding edge of Chromium, but Edge seems to be up to date all the time. I don't know that you should uninstall Chrome, but there's certainly no longer any need to install Chrome.

level 1. · 2 yr. ago. I switched from Edge classic to new Edge. The biggest difference is that I never have to use Chrome or Firefox any more to make sure the problem wasn't Edge classic. I haven't had either non-Edge browser installed for months and the new Edge just keeps getting better.
