24.05.2021 · Hi, Experts. I'm working with one of the our client. They have ESXi 5.5 running 2 host. they are using iSCSI storage. Client want to update their Hardware as well as vmware version from 5.5 to 7 also storage from iSCSI to FC.

Since our vCenter set up is so simple - can I just install a new vCenter 6.7 appliance and then move the configuration from 5.5? That seems like an easier path ...

You can see for yourself that vCenter 5.5 Update 2 doesn't have a direct upgrade path to vCenter 6.7 and later versions.

05.09.2017 · Regarding upgrade path, if you have only vCenter and ESXi servers then the sequence would be , vCenter server and its components (PSC, vCenter server, Update manager) once you complete them you can start upgrading the ESXi servers using update manager or other upgrade options.
