17.07.2017 · After installing nextcloud using the packaged VM from Tech and Me, I realized that it doesn’t offer the opportunity to move the data directory during installation. The one I used also comes preconfigured as a 20GB disk VHD. Immediately after installation I realized the need to move the data directory to a larger virtual disk.

Now you don't need to bother with the external media solution: all of Nextcloud's data will be there. Note that this only covers the raw data (e.g. files) hosted by Nextcloud.
