13.04.2021 · FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE can be installed from bootable ISO images or over the network. Some architectures also support installing from a USB memory stick. The required files can be downloaded as described in the section below. SHA512 and SHA256 hashes for the release ISO, memory stick, and SD card images are included at the bottom of this message.

The FreeBSD installer can be downloaded in a number of different formats including CD (disc1), DVD (dvd1), and Network Install (bootonly) sized ISO Disc Images, as well as regular and mini USB memory stick images. Recent versions of FreeBSD are also offered as prebuilt expandable Virtual Machine images, and as SD Card images for embedded platforms.

Source and binary snapshots of FreeBSD 13-STABLE also contain up-to-date copies of this document (as of the time of the snapshot).

The base system has been upgraded to FreeBSD 13.0-RELEASE. The partition alignment has been changed to 1M to improve the write speed on flash drives. A bug where GLX is disabled has been fixed.
