24.12.2019 · There are two ways to remove these ghost devices. 1 Delete the entire integration that added them. Good luck if you have many devices and have renamed many of them in Home Assistant. When you add devices in deconz not all of them can be renamed in Phoscon. There are sensors associated with the devices that cannot be renamed.

05.11.2018 · This is still a problem. We need the ability to delete individual devices. I just stuffed up configuring an ESP2866 and to clear it from discovery had to wipe all my mqtt devices instead of just that one device.

26.07.2020 · My question is: how to effectively remove both devices so that I can start clean and switch.switch03 refers to the ESPHome one (the only one). I tried to remove it via the GUI, but switch.switch03 is somehow internally wired to the first one it saw (the ESPurna MQTT) and won’t let the name go.

Then add integration again and enable the broker and discovery. I don’t really understand how a device gets multiple entity_id’s the second usually with a _2 suffix…

The only way they get removed is to remove/re-add the integration. Unless…you really want to be adventurous and manually edit them out of the device & entity registry in the (hidden) .storage directory.
