Unfortunately I got a report that CentOS Stream added another backport recently which will need to be handled in a similar way but I'll need some time to get sources of relevant kernel packages and find what exactly should the condition look like.

Mar 08, 2021 · Hi I just tried your solution on the current latest version of Vmware Workstation Pro 16.1.2 build-17966106 and CentOS latest release / update 8.4.2105 and it worked just fine ! I wonder why Vmware doesn't fix it and since every kernel update requires Kernel Headers update for Workstation Pro to work, this fix needs to be applied ASAP.
