You need really strong reasons to use i3 inside KDE. Why do you think it's worth it for you? I mean, you can configure icon and cursor packs, GTK and Qt themes, all without KDE. You can have whatever panel you want and set the wallpaper also without KDE. You can have (almost) identical keybindings in i3 as you would have in KDE.
