Actual behavior: CPU Utilization spiking to ~100%, some databases are being queried successfully, where as at least one of the largest databases (~65GB) is returning HTTP POST 500 / timeout. 04.01.2022 · network metrics: Yes, these beautiful charts are generated by Grafana/InfluxDB/Telegraf. From these metrics, we can easily see what is going on for our Linux systems. This is critical for our system monitoring. There are more metrics for each item. For example: we can get all the CPU metrics like usage_guest, usage_idle, usage_iowait etc.

This is puzzling since (as far as I can tell) there's no reason for the query load on the DB to have changed. I think things got worse when I upgraded to InfluxDB 1.7.7, but I don't know what my previous version was.

29.10.2019 · After upgrading InfluxDB to v1.7.9 we observed an increase in CPU usage from 15% usage to 53% usage. When doing a top command, we saw a lot of cpu consummed by the queries above. Jan 24, 2020 · Note that I had “restart on reboot” and “watchdog” enabled. What fixed it for me, was simply shutting down the influxdb addon, unselecting watchdog, and rebooting the host. After the reboot, cpu usage is back to normal. Note that I think it was the watchdog setting, as the high cpu use persisted after previous reboots.
