Differential equations is the hardest math class for a typical engineering curriculum: (Calc I-III + DE’s). The introductory level is also often single-variable for DE’s but in some cases a differential equation is modeled as a function of two variables–x and y…
Some people will act like it's the hardest thing when they aren't well-studied in math fundamentals (and I suppose a bad professor can make it unnecessarily difficult) but conceptually, the actual material in ordinary differential equations isn't difficult to understand. 12 level 2 misslecraft · 4y Agreed. I found it easier than Cal II.
05.09.2021 · Answer (1 of 5): It’s not really possible to rank math classes by difficulty because different people will find different things difficult. Personally I found group theory harder than differential equations but others could have the opposite experience. That said I will say that undergraduate lev...
Answer (1 of 9): The only limit to the depth of difficulty and specialization (they often go hand in hand) is having enough students to fill the class. As you continue through undergraduate and into graduate math the subjects get more focused and more difficult.
Differential equations is the hardest math class for a typical engineering curriculum: (Calc I-III + DE's). I ended up with a ~91% in a class which lucky ...
An ordinary differential equation (ODE) contains differentials with respect to only one variable, partial differential equations (PDE) contain differentials ...

An ordinary differential equation (ODE) is an equation that involves some ... Usually, the difficult part is determining what integration we need to do.
In general, differential equations is considered to be slightly more difficult than calculus 2 (integral calculus). If you did well in calculus 2, it is likely that you can do well in differential equations. There are actually a number of factors that will impact the difficulty of the class for you.

Even though there are some aspects of differential equations that can be difficult, overall, I would say that differential equations are actually one of the easier higher level math classes. Differential equations tend to be very algorithmic in that you will usually need to identify the type of equation then go through a series of steps for that type of equation to solve it.
I would state that ANY proper math class should be more difficult. Having a course about the theory behind ODEs and PDEs is more challenging of course. There ...
