When people think of skiing, they usually go to the big resorts in Colorado. Taos Ski Valley had as good skiing as the major resorts, without the crowd. Over 2 days, thr longest we had to wait in line for a lift was 2 minutes. The only negative about the experience was that most runs tend to have ice in the afternoon. Would definitely visit again

Consider Angel Fire or Red River unless people in your party are "good" skiers. Taos Ski Valley is a skier's mountain and with 79 of the 112 runs being expert terrain, doesn't leave a beginner many places to explore. I LOVE skiing at Taos Ski Valley and I live ~25 minutes from it. I would never take someone brand new to the sport there.
