31.12.2019 · Hello. Im running kde neon with plasma 5.12.3. I was running some programs and used sudo xkill on an open tab in the panel(i think it was for discover). As soon as i did this my screen went black with only mouse cursor visible.

It's just not able to wake up, my monitor screen is black, then there's 'No signal', but it manages to turn on the monitor, so something is happening. I don't know how to fix this issue, is there a way to fix that? This is my config : Operating System: KDE neon 5.18. KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5. KDE Frameworks Version: 5.69.0. Qt Version: 5.14.2

Solved! After trying KDE Neon, I switched to Pop! OS and it threw message that it couldn't boot because of security policies of computer.

after i updated to the latest version the other day all i get is a black screen after selecting KDE Neon from the Dual Boot screen.

16.12.2020 · To get out of this quandary you just need to do an update to KDE Neon 5.20: 1. From the black screen with the mouse pointer, press Ctrl + Alt + F2 to get to a terminal. 2. Login. 3. Run pkcon update. 4. If the space requirements etc. look good type y and hit Enter. 5. Once this has updated reboot your machine (you can of course type reboot ).

Apr 11, 2019 · Black screen with mouse pointer. I've been using Neon User edition for 6 months. When I restarted today, all I get is a black screen with mouse pointer. I don't get the login screen. I'm guessing this is because of a failed/partial update. I tried ctrl-alt-f1 and ctrl-alt-f7. All that does is remove the mouse pointer.

25.01.2008 · After using the KDE Plasma 5 for about a week suddenly I boot to a login screen. I enter my credentials and continue. The KDE progress indicator comes up indicating that it is loading. Where it should then present me with the desktop I get a black screen with a mouse cursor. I also have xfce installed so I rebooted and selected it.
