Yes, if you import from nextcloud all your photos are copied into data folder from librephotos. It is slow, so I'm just using cron and cp my (unencrypted) photos folder into librephotos data folder. It is taking two times more space, but not all self-hosted software is perfect

A while ago I tried adding photos to my nextcloud instance, but the nextcloud app in my opinion is very rudimentary. I really missed face grouping, location search, the year based scrollbar, etc.

I am looking at spinning up either photoprism or librephotos to give me a better use experience for photos synced to Nextcloud. Currently photos are synced to Nextcloud and we use the built in photos app, which is better than before, but still fairly lacking.
30.12.2020 · I have Nextcloud and Librephotos running on the same machine. I've set the Librephotos photos directory to the photos directory of my Nextcloud data folder. It works but there's a number of reasons why I'm not a fan of this approach and I think something like this suggestion would really be a clean way to integrate the two services.

31.12.2020 · Thanks for posting these links. What I miss in those solutions is the possibility to add text to your photos like it is done in Google Photos. The ability to give albums contextual background with a nice and simple typesetting is a key differentiator from the classic solution to keep picture files in folders (on-/offline).

Jan 31, 2021 · I am hosting LibrePhotos using the recommended docker-compose method. I have added a new app password, entered NextCloud credentials, and it says that I am logged into NextCloud. However, when I attempt to change the NextCloud scan directory, I cannot get it to save the directory.
