good reasons for this. First, linear algebra has top priority. It is better to go forward and do more linear algebra than to stop and do more group and ring theory. Second, it is more important that students learn to organize and write proofs themselves than to cover more subject matter. Algebra is a perfect place

If you're fine with the content you had in your logic classes and proofs in your linear algebra class, you'll be fine. I wouldn't take both at once, though. They're fairly heavy course loads. Generally, you see students take real analysis first because it's more applicable to real life phenomenon and abstract algebra is, well, more abstract.

Mar 20, 2014 · Problems in linear algebra can be written first to sound semi-physical or geometric, and then to make reference to concepts that were taught in such problems, and then to be fully abstract. By the end of a linear algebra course, students should have at least some foundation for thinking abstractly, as well as a big list of familiar references that will recur in abstract algebra.

Linear algebra is approximately 50% of mathematics; 9 most of the remaining 50% is calculus. It's more or less about two things: vector spaces, and their symmetries and transformations. In most serious applications the vector spaces we actually care about have very large dimensions: hundreds, millions, or infinitely many.
