Questions before switching to Linux Mint. I've been using Manjaro for a while now, and I need to switch to Debian based distros, or Debian itself, so I was thinking of Linux Mint, for college purposes. I've had terrible experiences with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, so that's why I decided to try another Debian based distro.

Antix/MX Linux are awesome. Antix is what I run on my really old netbook, and it is by far the leanest, fastest distro I have ever used. Mint MATE is what I run on my main computer, it's stable, and it simply does it job without glitz and glitter and I also have LXDE installed on that Mint so when I want something a little different and faster, I just boot into LXDE on Mint.

Manjaro is based on arch linux and will get rolling releases, so you will have the newest programs and features, but it is more prone to bugs and stuff breaking. Keep in mind it can be fixed rathee quick on your own or when the next fast patch comes out Mint is based on ubuntu, which is a debian system.

Manjaro is rolling release distro which means it gets updated everyday whereas Linux Mint is released every time new Ubuntu LTS comes. Linux Mint is for stability and ease of usage whereas Manjaro is for cutting edge Linux technology. Both do their jobs very well. You can try both and go with the one you like most.

Linux Mint IS Ubuntu, but with a lot more features ready to use. Linux Mint is far more of a completed OS with things pre installed that someone might expect.
