A laptop that gets 8 hours on Windows 10 often struggles to hit 4 hours with a Linux distro like Ubuntu. Why? That depends. It’s a complex, caveated, and contentious issue.

Steam/Linux Generally, the more resource-light a distro is, the better the battery life, so ofc Arch would be the way to go. If you wanna have a GUI, which you probabl want, you could go with something like Lubuntu. Imo lubuntu (or its Ui, lxde) is pretty ugly, so you should probably go with ubuntu mate or xubuntu (xfce).

Thankfully, unlike Windows and macOS, Linux is Linux; we can dive in and fine-tune kernel settings and parameters, swap heavy desktops for lightweight ones, and so on.
