In my experience, changing the theme in GDM can also affect your user theme in some strange way. When I changed it, it seemed to also override certain theme settings on my desktop, weirdly enough.

20.04.2017 · So in a nutshell, there is no way to change this hideous GDM on manjaro gnome in an easy way? Then I guess the only way is to add other DM and set it properly. GDM sucks! What DMs are the best for customizing then? Then one from plasma needs plasma to set it up so when having only gnome that's not a good idea. LightDM or maybe the one from mint?
