Sep 03, 2020 · Even more infuriating, Manjaro appears to be configured to lock the account after 3 failed login attempts. Not sure what the point of that is on a single-user system, but I had to edit /etc/security/faillock.conf to bump this up to 3000 so it doesn’t affect me (see: Account gets locked for 10 minutes after 3 failed attempts ).

It can be solved by rebooting, but sometimes it is not convenient to do so, and I find that it might be useful to understand why this problem appears in the first place.

Unlocking failed Every time I bring my laptop out of suspend and/or just lift the lid (usually brings it out of suspend) the lock screen comes up as normal (every thing good so far) but it immediately attempts to log me in (I assume) becuase it pauses for a moment then says "unlocking failed", then lets me sign in and works normally.
