If I would spend 50 points in elemental expert and master at arms and if my opponent hast 50 into the counter stars ironclad and elemental defender, I would still deal 4% less damage than on live. But since I could invest more into spell erosion to get like 2 k more pen, I could compensate these 4%.

It buffs the damage of curse, force pulse, clench (initial hit), endless fury/Mage's wrath, the initial hit of meteor, the final explosion of unstable wall, all light attacks, inferno heavy attacks, pet basic attacks.

For example, Master-At-Arms boosts all Direct Damage abilities by 10 percent and Preparation reduces damage taken by 10 percent. The best Champion Point Stars that you should focus on unlocking first in the Warfare Tree are: Precision. Piercing. Deadly Aim. Biting Aura. Master-At-Arms. Thaumaturge. Fighting Finesse. Direct Damage = Damage now. (Damage that is received on contact). DoT = Total Damage / Time. (Damage that is received over a period of time, think bleed damage) Some abilities can be both, but only the initial damage will get the direct damage multiplier and only the bleed damage will get the DoT multiplier. level 1.
