Of course all stopped working after the update. This is what I did to make it work again. Go to add/remove software, search nvidia and uninstall everything. 20.05.2021 · Hey, I have updated my Install yesterday, which included upgrades from Kernel 5.12.1 to 5.12.2 and some other stuff. Starting X instantly deadlocks and i can’t access ttys. Doesn’t matter if nvidia drivers are installed via mhwd or manually using the nvidia-dkms package. I am now on my Intel iGPU but would like to use my GPU again, what can i do?
05.02.2020 · UPDATE - FIXED! I removed the cuda package and everything updated normally!. HOWEVER - If I want to reinstall cuda the issue with the different nvidia-utils remains. So the issue is solved for updating the system, but in order to reinstall the cuda package you have to remove linux57-nvidia-440xx, lib32-nvidia-440xx-utils and nvidia-440x-utils.
