Nextcloud Talk´s WebRTC handling is still mostly based on the one from the Spreed.ME WebRTC solution. For this reason, all guides about how to configure coTURN for it, applies to Nextcloud Talk too. If you need to use Talk with more than 5-10 users in the same call, you will need the Spreed High Performance Back-end from Nextcloud GmbH.

Next, go to Nextcloud admin page, click Additional settings and scroll down to bottom of the page. Once you see the Spreed.ME section, click Generate Spreed WebRTC config button.

You can use both (I do this, but spreed doesn’t work in TURN mode), without problem. The purpose of official spreed is to propose a all-in-one solution without external service.

Jan 12, 2018 · I want to specify, that I had previously installed spreed.me webrtc server backend and nextcloud app. With spreed.me, Talk didnt worked. So, I removed backend, purged configs, and removed nextcloud spreed.me and talk. Server reboot and new talk download.

Hi - I’ve been experimenting with Nextcloud Talk vs Spreed.ME. My main issue with Talk is the users receive no audible notification when a call is incoming- Spreed.ME gives a “captain’s hail” sound with a button that you can’t miss saying “accept call”.
