01.08.2019 · Hi all as title says, I go to the boot and it comes to “NVIDIA kernel module missing. Falling back to nouveau” and then it just never moved on from there. I’m not the best with Linux still as I am learning alot but I really enjoy Fedora. Any idea what I can do? I tried booting with kernel 5.1.16, 5.0.9, and in rescue w/ and w/o install USB plugged in. Not sure what to try next.

Oct 19, 2021 · My system, which is F35 Beta, has no issue with the kernel and nvidia. As I said earlier, if secure boot is enabled then the nvidia modules cannot be loaded with an F35 kernel due to the module being unsigned. The OP has not responded since I posted that so lets wait until he updates and tells us what he found & tried.

Mar 02, 2019 · Module version 415.27 for nvidia-modeset.ko exactly matches what is already found in kernel 4.15.0-45-generic. DKMS will not replace this module. You may override by specifying --force.

After doing that, the NVIDIA Kernel Module Missing message went away, and this is with Secure Boot enabled. I confirmed Secure Boot was in fact enabled and I was able to use asusctl to switch graphics modes between integrated (AMD Radeon on my notebook), NVIDIA (3070 mobile), and Hybrid, as well as VFIO modes successfully.

30.04.2021 · Fedora 34 NVIDIA kernel module missing. Falling back to nouveau. I have tried installing nvidia drivers via gnome software, manually via terminal and nvidia auto installer script. Everything seems ok until final moments of reboot when I get a message that kernel module is missing. Nvidia X server settings app does not start when I try to run it.

This is guide, howto install NVIDIA proprietary drivers (manually using .run files) on Fedora ... I was missing a dbl-quote in line 7.
