To do his real work they are connected via IPSEC to another company.

Everything else (PPTP, IPsec IKEv1+xauth, L2TP/IPsec IKEv1, TUN/TAP based TLS VPN)in my opinion is obsolete and should not be used for new deployments. IKEv2 is built-in to any modern OS. It is supported in Android as well using the Strongswan app.
