29.10.2018 · Hardware offloading is not upstream yet because there is no driver using it yet. In OpenWRT, the flow offloading is extended to support bridges, VLANs and PPPoE. So finally there is something upstream (in Linux and in OpenWRT). In the future, hopefully more can go into the mainline. Another future step is to get QoS in flow offloading.

I have software flow offloading enabled on 19.07.2 on a WRT1200AC and my uplink is 100 Mb/s. If I set SQM to 30000, my speed drops to less than 30 Mb/s. It also states in the GUI that SQM is not fully compatible with flow offloading.

Flow Offloading is faster - but will SQM still manage bandwidth better? I've seen and read a bunch of topics on software/hardware flow offloading, and the current state of SQM when that's enabled, but I'm still quite a newbie at fully understanding all of the network tools and routing information.
