Tomato - was most user friendly and polished firmware. But as official website says is more than 3yrs from latest release. So, sadly no latest security updates here.

12.03.2021 · Tomato and DD-WRT are not the only third-party firmwares available. There is also Open-WRT, LEDE and around a half-dozen others, but DD-WRT and Tomato are two of the most widely adopted options.

Tomato’s compatibility is limited compared to other firmware, but it works with routers like Linksys WRT54GL.v1.x/ WRT54G v1-v4 and Buffalo WHR3-AG54.
