OpenWrt contains an additional boot up stage, called 'preinit', which allows it to boot into normal mode by default, or boot into failsafe mode if triggered by the user.

Except the WPA2-PSK security settings, changing the Wifi name and disabling WMM, I made no configs, but the Wifi is not that fast. When I run a speed test, I only have 11 to 14 MBit.
