Partial differential equations have long served to model regulatory feedbacks and transport processes in multicellular biological systems. In the last years, there has been a fast development of the PDE methods dictated by the novel aspects of biological observation. This conference will be devoted to the achievements of some of them.
Historically, biological models involving partial differential equations (PDEs) date back to the work of K. Pearson and J. Blakeman in the early 1900s.
These equations show how a certain function changes, and contain derivatives of functions which could be unknown. They could be ordinary or partial ...
This leads to partial differential equation models that are quite often analogous to classical models for molecular diffusion, convection, or attraction. Historically, biological models involving partial differential equations (PDEs) date back to the work of …
Partial differential equation (PDE) models are sets of equations describing the evolution of a physical quantity, not only with time, but also according to a structure variable such as space. They may be used for the physiological modeling of the evolution of a biological substance (e.g., a drug in an organism) submitted to changes, rather than ...

In particular, the complexity of biology translates easily into multivariable functions, whose variation into a multidimensional domain, leads to partial ...
