She says that she always used to say "texted" but her daughters, in their 20's made fun of her. She says they always write "text" for the past form, too.

If some people use 'texted' as the past tense of 'text,' and are generally understood by the people they are communicating with, then 'texted' is a legitimate past tense form of 'text.' Same for the other variants. Also for words like 'aksed,' as hard as it is for my own ears to adjust.
