Pihole does match the ip addresses by their corresponding Mac address. This however does not work on every setup when the Mac is not reaching pihole itself. Your clients can have 3 IPv6 addresses. The global unicast (2000::), the local unicast (fd00::) and the link local (fe80::)

I know they said that a large amount of traffic on the Comcast network is actually IPv6 traffic. So they are using it.
