My preferred partitioning for laptops & desktops: EFI partition (for uefi machines) - fat32, 512 MB (not GB). Root - ext4, 30-40 GB. Recovery for Pop!_OS - fat32, 4GB. Rest of disk space goes to /home - ext4. Swap - only if machine has less than 8GB of RAM, double size of RAM.
