Edit - I've installed proxmox on SSD and I've setup mirror hdd zfs pool. Easiest way to do this would be to use the turnkey-nextcloud image and then mount your storage to the container. When you create an LXC container you set up the root disk, just choose your ZFS pool there. I want to install lcx on SSD and Mount my zfs pool for storage.

For me Proxmox is running off a set of mirrored ssds. I run truenas inside proxmox and pass through 6 hdds directly. I use the plugin system in Truenas to run Nextcloud. Has been working great for a bit over a year. Prior to this I had a dedicated physical Freenas that I migrated over.
