I've managed to get TianoCore/UEFI working, via some trickery with VirtualBox. However, i've set ICH9/Q35 in VirtualBox as Chipset. This is ignored and switched back to i440FX. Is there a reason why VS does not support Q35?

The general rule of thumb for me is to use the i440FX by default, and use Q35 whenever i440FX doesn't support for the VM. Which in cases like virtualizing a Mac OS X machine it needs the Q35 chipset.

The basic answer to your question is that q35 has a native PCI Express bus and i440fx doesn't exactly have that; IIRC you're attaching to a PCI bus but running it at PCIe speeds. Anyway, during the troubleshooting I found that if I change machine type from q35 to i440fx I was able to pass GPU trough. However this VM often crashes up to the level that it crashes the host as well. If removed GPU it is stable. My question, am I doing correctly just simply changing VM machine type from q35 to i440fx via the proxmox WEBGUI?
