However, I tried booting up proxmox on USB, and accessing the BIOS, but I'm getting no screen output. I'm assuming this is due to lacking native support of this gpu, so I'm thinking of just getting a cheapo videocard 2nd hand. Before I do that, I would like to try to get it running.

Best I could find was someone that installed Debian then Proxmox, both unattended. This seems suboptimal. If you find an image or a path to build an image that performs an unattended install, I'd be more than happy to shove it into iPXE/Netboot for the community.
