The pool was shared from the VM to my other VMs via NFS. I had issues with my ZFS pool and thought it was due to the PCIe pass through and wiped out Proxmox in order to diagnose the issue (it was actually a bad DIMM). I'm now currently redoing my server and am planning on having the ZFS pool mounted directly under Proxmox itself.

ZFS can't be shared between hosts. For something like that CEPH is a better storage choice. If you want share data stored on a ZFS pool you can only use NFS/SMB/iSCSI for that.

I am trying to share some ZFS datasets with samba but I am unable to connect to them from Linux or Windows. On proxmox I ran zfs sharesmb=on zfsraid/share and the workgroup is set correctly in the samba config file. I also added a samba user with password using smbpasswd -a nilzzz, but neither on Ubuntu 18.04 nor Windows do I see the network share in the network explorer.
