Mar 17, 2020 · Hi all, I am a newbie to pytorch and am trying to build a simple claasifier by my own. I am trying to train a tensor classifier with 4 classes, the inputs are one dimensional tensors with a length of 1000. This is the architecture of my neural network, I have used BatchNorm layer: class Net(nn.Module): def __init__(self): super(Net, self).__init__() self.conv1 = nn.Conv1d(1, 6, 5) self.bn1 ...

Jan 11, 2021 · So as the input of log (), we will get NaN. There are two ways to solve the promblem: add a small number in log ,like 1e-3. The price is the loss of precision. make the dypte of the input of log () be float32. e.g.: yhat = torch.sigmoid (input).type (torch.float32) loss = -y* ( (1-yhat) ** self.gamma) * torch.log (yhat + 1e-20) - (1-y) * (yhat ...

Apr 11, 2019 · The KLD loss tends to be much much bigger in the 1st epoch so I thought it might be a data casting problem and added a scaling factor of 1e-10 but even that didn’t help. I considered setting KLD to some small value in the 1st epoch to prevent the overshoot but then I just get a NaN in the 2nd epoch… This is my loss function:

I have also meet this problem and solved. loss NaN due to the half percision make the value close to 0, then, when execute some operation such as log or divide, the loss will to be NaN and w.r.t the gradient will to be NaN. So, we just to restrict the max value of gradient and skip the train step of loss NaN. I have tried two method to work。
