The tool asks you to mount a VBK file, opens it, and shows you all the VMs that are saved into it: From here, you can select the desired VM and extract it into any folder that can be seen from the Windows machine.
18.04.2017 · Does exactly what it says on the post… You can use the following tools that come with the Veeam B&R installation to restore VMs, only works with the full VBK backup files. But certainly a trouser saver if you need to restore your Veeam (or any other) server without the main Veeam server. Under the following path on the B&R server:

Restore Full VM Without Veeam B&R ... i have just installed the Veeam agent and saved backups to an smb share on a NAS - not using a Veeam B&R server. I can restore files from the agent on the machines themselves ... I'm seeing that we currently have three backup chains in the backup repository for this backup job signified by three .vbk files.
28.01.2016 · Our backup job chains got corrupted so the job cannot purge old VIB and VBK files per retention. We have to start a new chain. We're running low on space and I'd like to remove the job from Veeam, delete all files but the VBKs we want to keep, including the VBM file, and then rescan and have it be able to do restore from the remaining VBK files.
